In Logic School, students should expect an AVERAGE of an hour and a half to two hours (20 minutes per class) of homework Monday-Thursday evenings. These homework times are AVERAGES. Some students will take longer than others to complete the same work and some will take less. Additionally, on some evenings, homework may exceed these estimates while on others it may be far below them. Reading is not considered homework and, therefore, is not calculated in the allotted homework time. Students should read an average of 30 minutes per night of assigned literature or pleasure reading. With the exception of math, there is no weekend homework assigned in the Logic School.
There are instances which guarantee either more homework or less time in which to accomplish it:
- The end of a quarter or before a long break.
- Projects and essays
- Extracurricular activities*
*The workload and due dates are the same whether students participate in extracurricular activities or not. We expect academic work to take precedence over extracurricular activities. Students who take longer to complete homework should compensate by reducing extracurricular commitments.
Homework and projects will not be assigned over long breaks.
