Academic Probation is a means of informing parents of student progress. It is intended to convey that improvement must occur so that students do not fall behind their grade level and become unable to continue at Geneva. A 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student is placed on academic probation if they earn a āDā (65-69) in any two subjects or an āFā (below 65) in any one subject. A 2nd grade student is placed on academic probation if they earn a "B" (Below Expectations) in any two subjects.
Once a student is placed on academic probation, the parents are required to attend a conference with the headmaster. Together we will develop an action plan to help the student succeed. Once grades have improved to passing and the action steps are consistently followed, the student may be released from probation.
A student is not allowed to re-enroll for the following year if they are on Academic Probation. Decisions about future enrollment may be made only upon the student's successful improvement. Be assured that we desire to come alongside developing students and partner with families in this endeavor.
